My Bedazzled Disaster Journey
Okay, so full disclosure? Saw some wild pics online and thought, “Huh, that shiny look down there… kinda cool.” Brain went, “YOLO, let’s try it!” Ignored the little voice screaming “BAD IDEA.” Here’s the whole messy story.

First, grabbed supplies. Went rummaging:
- Cheap craft store body glue (meant for temporary tattoos or some crap)
- Tiny plastic “rhinestones” – the kind you get in a kid’s craft kit
- Rubbing alcohol (for cleaning, I guessed?)
- Hand mirror
Did I research? Nah. Figured it was like sticking glitter on a poster. Boy, was I stupid.
Prep time: Took a shower, dried off real good. Used the alcohol on a cotton pad, wiped the skin where I wanted sparkle. Felt tingly and weirdly cold. Positioned the hand mirror awkwardly on the floor. Sat down. Grabbed the glue bottle.
Squeezed a tiny blob onto my fingertip. Thought, “Less is more, right?” Dabbed it onto my pubic skin – just above everything, aiming for the mons pubis area. Instantly felt… sticky and gross. The smell was kinda chemical too. Bit my lip and moved fast.
Sparkle time: Took tweezers to pick up a single rhinestone. Carefully plopped it onto the glue blob. Held my breath. It stuck! Felt a surge of dumb pride. “This isn’t so hard!” Added a few more around it. Started making a little cluster. Looked kinda neat!
The trouble started quick. First, that spot started itching. Like, really itching. Figured it was just the glue drying. Tried to ignore it. Added more stones. Mistake. More glue, more stones = more itching turning into a mild burning sensation. Oh crap.
Regret hits: Stood up carefully. Looked in the bathroom mirror. Okay, yeah, sparkly. But damn, it already felt uncomfortable. Like having tiny, pointy scabs glued on. Walked around for an hour. Every movement made the stones rub slightly. Itch turned into a low-key stinging sensation. Sitting down felt weirdly prickly. Started sweating nervously, which somehow made it feel worse and grosser.
The peeling panic: After maybe two hours? Couldn’t take it anymore. Went back to the bathroom. Tried gently peeling a stone off with my fingernail. The glue did not wanna let go. It pulled at my skin hard. Hurt! Left a bright red mark and a tacky residue behind. Tried using the rubbing alcohol on a cotton swab to dissolve the glue. Just made it sting more. Like putting lemon juice on a paper cut. Took ages of slow, careful peeling and rubbing to get each damn stone off. Felt like ripping off bandaids one by one.
Aftermath is nasty: Skin looked angry – red, blotchy, slightly swollen. Felt tender for days. Little bits of glue residue stuck around too, refusing to come off fully without scrubbing (which I absolutely did not do down there!). Showered constantly. The worst part? Found glitter stuck everywhere for like a week afterwards. In the shower drain, on towels, how?!
So yeah. Achieved “sparkle”? For a hot minute. Got discomfort, irritation, and a big serving of regret instead. The internet makes it look easy and fun. It was not. My advice? Just… don’t. If you’re dead-set on it? See a legit professional piercing artist who knows about safe adhesives and sterile gems. But honestly? That smooth, healthy skin feeling wins over any sparkle. Learned my lesson the itchy, painful way.
