Okay so here’s the thing, I’ve been obsessed with Motionless in White forever, right? Love their lyrics – dark, poetic, hits you right in the feels. My buddies kept asking me, “Hey dude, where do you even find those killer MIW quotes?” Honestly, I used to just… guess? Or desperately hope someone posted them online somewhere. Total mess. So last night, I figured screw it, I’m gonna find a solid way to dig up Chris Motionless & crew’s best lines, no more scratching my head.
The Stupid Google Loop I Got Stuck In
First dumb move: I typed “famous motionless in white quotes” straight into Google. Like an absolute rookie. Wrong. What came back? A bunch of quote websites crammed full of generic rock quotes, maybe ONE actual MIW line if I was lucky, buried under a pile of ads. Felt like looking for a specific black studded belt in a dumpster fire.
Tried the Wild West of Social Media… Bad Idea
Next bright idea? Headed over to Instagram and TikTok. Searched #motionlessinwhitequotes. Now, some results were legit – cool fan edits with killer lyrics over spooky pics. But for every one of those? A dozen posts with lyrics smashed together from totally different songs, typos, or just… plain wrong stuff people thought sounded cool. Found a “quote” claiming to be from Eternally Yours that was definitely NOT in the song! Couldn’t trust any of it.
Remembered the Obvious: The Band’s Own Stuff! Duh!
Slammed my laptop shut outta frustration. Sat there for a sec. Then… duh. The songs! The liner notes! Their own social feeds! Why was I being so complicated? Smacked my forehead, grabbed my phone.
- Pulled up streaming: Spotify, Apple Music… wherever. Started opening the lyrics sections for their albums, album by album. Starting with Disguise since it’s my favorite.
- Copied & Pasted: When I hit a line that punched me in the gut, like “Is it real? Or just a dream? Where nothing’s quite as it seems.” from Thoughts & Prayers, I just copied the whole section straight into my notes app. Boom. Pure source.
- Got granular: Instead of random searches, I specifically started typing “[SONG NAME] lyrics” into Google. This actually pulled up way more reliable lyric sites focused on that one track. Scrolled down carefully, reading the whole song, found gems from Another Life that way.
The Band’s Pages are Goldmines Sometimes
Decided to check out MIW’s official social accounts on Twitter and Instagram. Scrolled back months. Turns out, Chris sometimes drops lyrics on release day! Found the “Let’s raise hell tonight” line from Slaughterhouse right there in his post. Official caption, zero doubts. Also spotted lyrics used in tour posters they shared!
It wasn’t rocket science, but you gotta go to the source. Quit chasing random quote sites and half-baked hashtags. Just open the damn music apps, read the actual lyrics yourself, screenshot their posts. Save yourself the headache, do it the easy way!
