Figuring Things Out: That Whole Pose Stuff
Alright, let’s talk about this whole ‘pose’ thing. You know, trying to figure out different ways to… connect. Me and my partner, we got talking one night. Things felt a bit routine, maybe? Not bad, just… same old, same old. So, we thought, hey, why not see what else is out there?

First step, obviously, was just chatting about it. What felt good, what didn’t, what maybe sounded interesting. That was easier said than done, honestly. Sometimes you don’t even have the words for it, right? Felt a bit awkward at first, like admitting you don’t know everything.
Then came the looking around part. You hit the internet, maybe flip through some stuff people share. Man, some of the things you see online look like they require serious athletic ability. Seriously complicated. We’d look at some picture or description and just laugh, like, “Who actually does that comfortably?”
- Some looked just plain awkward.
- Some looked like a guaranteed pulled muscle.
- A few actually seemed… possible? Maybe?
So, we decided to try a couple that seemed less like advanced yoga and more like something two normal guys could actually manage. There was definitely some fumbling. Lots of “wait, move your leg,” “no, the other way,” “ow, okay, maybe not that.” It wasn’t exactly smooth sailing right off the bat. Lots of trial and error. More error sometimes.
We found a couple of things that kinda worked, felt different. Nothing revolutionary, maybe, but just… new angles, different pressures. Sometimes the simplest shifts made a surprising difference. Other times, stuff that looked great in theory was just uncomfortable or didn’t really add much.
The main thing we kinda realised through all this messing around wasn’t really about finding some magic ‘pose’. It was more about the communication, you know? Laughing at the awkward bits, being okay with trying something that might not work, and just paying more attention to what actually felt good for both of us in the moment, rather than trying to copy something specific. That ended up being more important than nailing some fancy maneuver we saw somewhere.
