Okay, so yesterday I went to the Planned Parenthood in Mission Viejo. I had been meaning to go for a while, but you know how it is, life gets in the way. But I finally decided to stop putting it off and just get it done. I figured it was time to take care of myself and get tested for STDs, because, let’s be honest, it’s always better to know.

First, I looked up the address and found out it’s at 26137 La Paz Rd. That was easy enough. I also saw that I could either make an appointment online or just call them. I hate talking on the phone, so I hopped onto their website to see if I could schedule something.
The website was pretty straightforward. I found the section for booking appointments and saw that they had a bunch of different services listed. I clicked on the STD testing option and picked a time that worked for me. The whole process took like, maybe five minutes? Super convenient.
When I got there, the place was pretty easy to find, right there on La Paz Road. I walked in and checked in at the front desk. The staff were really nice and professional, which made me feel a bit more at ease. I didn’t have to wait long before they called my name.
Getting Tested
- The Testing Process: The nurse explained everything really clearly. She told me that STD tests usually don’t take long and that it’s the only way to know for sure if you have an STD.
- No Symptoms? Still Get Tested: She also mentioned that most STDs don’t show any symptoms, so getting tested is super important even if you feel fine.
- Quick and Easy: The test itself was quick. They took some samples, and I was done in no time.
Waiting for Results
Now, the waiting game. The nurse told me that it usually takes between five and ten days to get the results. She also said they’d only call if the results were positive. If I didn’t hear back, it meant I was in the clear. I appreciated that they made it clear so I wouldn’t be freaking out waiting for a call that wasn’t coming.
Tip: They had this “$10 Off STD Testing Now!” thing going on. I didn’t see it advertised anywhere, but the nurse mentioned it, so that was a nice little bonus. Always good to save a bit of money, right?

While I was there, I noticed they also offer other services, like birth control and general wellness check-ups. It’s good to know that they have a range of stuff available, in case I need something else in the future. I even noticed they do virtual consultations, which is pretty cool if you can’t make it in person.
Overall, my experience at Planned Parenthood in Mission Viejo was really positive. It was easy to schedule an appointment, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the whole process was quick and painless. If you’re thinking about getting tested or need any of their other services, I’d definitely recommend checking them out. It’s always a good idea to take care of your health, and they make it pretty easy to do that.
