Okay, so, I decided to get into the Christmas spirit a bit early this year and try out some, uh, “festive” lines on people. You know, those cheesy Christmas pick-up lines? Yeah, those. I figured, why not? It could be a laugh, right? So I started jotting down a bunch of them on my phone.

I started out with some classics, and they just got more cheesy. I’m talking full-on, brie-level cheesy stuff here.
- “Are you Christmas? Because I want to Merry you!”
- “Can I take a picture of you, so I can show Santa what I want for Christmas?”
- “Is your name Jingle Bells? ‘Cause you look like you go all the way!”
I was feeling pretty good about my list, so I decided to give it a whirl. I went to a local Christmas market. I figured it was the perfect setting, people are already feeling all warm and fuzzy, right?
I walked around, trying to work up the courage to actually use one of these lines. I practiced them over and over in my head. I saw a cute girl looking at ornaments. Deep breaths, here goes nothing. I walked up to her and blurted out, “If a big, jolly man snatches you tonight, don’t worry, I told Santa I wanted you for Christmas”.
She just blinked at me, then burst out laughing. She said it was the corniest thing she’d ever heard, but it made her day. We chatted for a bit, and I even got her number! Success! Emboldened by that, I tried a few more.
Let me tell you, not everyone appreciated my attempts at Christmas cheer. I got a few eye-rolls, a couple of “Are you serious?” and one woman told me to get lost. But I didn’t let that deter me. I went all in. I tried all my lines on different people, from strangers to shop assistants. I was on a mission to spread some Christmas cheer, one cheesy pick-up line at a time.

I even started making up my own lines on the spot. At one point, I saw a guy struggling to carry a bunch of presents, so I told him, “You look like you could use a hand, or should I say a “Santa’s Little Helper?”. It got a chuckle, so I counted it as a win.
The Final Results
All in all, it was a pretty fun experiment. I got a mix of reactions, from laughter to confusion to utter bewilderment. I learned that some people are more receptive to cheesy pick-up lines than others, especially during the holiday season. I also discovered that I’m surprisingly good at coming up with cheesy lines on the fly. Who knew?
So, would I recommend trying out Christmas pick-up lines? If you’re looking for a way to inject some humor into your holiday interactions, I say go for it! Just be prepared for a wide range of reactions, and don’t take it too seriously. After all, ’tis the season to be jolly, right?
