My child, oh, that one, always talkin’ ’bout this thing called family therapy xxx. What’s that even? Sounds fancy, huh? We never had nothin’ like that back in my day. We just yell it out, or sometimes, no talk at all. But they say it’s good. Help the family, you know?

What’s this family therapy xxx?
So, this family therapy xxx, they say it’s like, you all go sit in a room, talk to a person who ain’t even family. This person, they call ’em a therapist. They listen to all your troubles. Like, maybe your son ain’t listenin’, or your daughter, she’s always on that phone. Or maybe you and your husband, you just keep fightin’ over the little things.
This therapist, they don’t take sides. They just listen. Then, they try to help you figure things out. Like, why you always fightin’? Why your kid won’t listen? They help you talk to each other, better, you know? Not just yellin’ and screamin’.
What happens when you go there?
First time you go, that’s a big one. They call it the “first session”. Like a first meetin’. You all go in, sit down. The therapist, they gonna ask a lot of questions. Like, “What’s wrong? Why are you here? How long has this been going on?” Stuff like that.
They gonna want to know ’bout your family. Like, how you all get along? Who’s who in the zoo? They’ll ask about the past. Sometimes bad things happened, you know, a long time ago. And they’ll want to know how you’re feeling now. You might feel sad or mad or frustrated. It’s okay to tell them that. This family therapy xxx is supposed to help, right? That’s what I heard.
- You talk about your problems.

This family therapy xxx, it ain’t gonna hurt, I guess. ‘Cept maybe your wallet. I hear it can cost a pretty penny. But if it helps your family, maybe it’s worth it.
Some folks, they have big problems. Like someone died, or someone’s real sick, or someone’s got a problem with drinkin’ or those pills. This family therapy xxx, they say it can help with that, too. Help you deal with the hard stuff.
