My Quest for Cuteness
First thing I did, I just sat and thought. What makes a pick-up line “cute” versus just… well, cringey? I decided “cute” meant something that wasn’t too forward, maybe a little punny, or just genuinely sweet. Definitely nothing sleazy. That was my main rule.
Then, I hit the internet. Typed in the usual suspects: “cute Valentine’s pick up lines,” “funny Valentine’s lines,” that sort of thing. And boy, did I see a lot. A lot. It’s like everyone and their dog has a list of these things.
I started sifting through them. My process was pretty simple. I’d read one, and if it made me roll my eyes too hard, it was out. If it sounded like something a robot trying to understand human emotion would say, also out. I was pretty ruthless, actually. I wanted genuine charm, not just a collection of words.
Some of the stuff I found was just… wow. Like, who actually says these things? I saw lines that were so over the top, you’d need a ladder to get to the punchline.
