Alright, so Halloween’s coming up, and you know I’m a sucker for a good themed project. I decided to tackle recreating a scene from the “Drake & Josh” Halloween episode. Remember the one with the creepy twins, Megan’s pranks, and Drake’s disastrous haunted house? Yeah, that one!

First thing’s first, I re-watched the episode. You gotta do your research, people! I paid close attention to the haunted house setup – what decorations they used, the layout, the whole shebang. Then I started brainstorming how I could translate that into something tangible.
The main challenge was, of course, time and budget. I wasn’t trying to build a full-blown replica, just a recognizable homage. So, I focused on the key elements. I remembered those hanging ghosts made of sheets? Classic! I raided my linen closet (sorry, Mom!) and got to cutting and draping.
Next up, the lighting. That episode had a lot of spooky, low-key lighting. I went to the dollar store and grabbed a bunch of those cheap LED tea lights. Placed strategically, they gave off a decent creepy vibe.
For some of the more specific props, I had to get a little creative. I remember there was a table with a fake brain on it. I didn’t have a fake brain lying around (who does?), so I improvised. I used a cauliflower, painted it pinkish-gray, and stuck some gummy worms on it. Not exactly realistic, but it got the point across!
Setting up the scene was the fun part. I used my garage as the “haunted house.” I draped the sheets to create makeshift walls, scattered the tea lights around, and arranged my props. I even added a fog machine for extra spookiness – totally worth it!

The final touch? Playing the “Drake & Josh” theme song on repeat. Can’t have a tribute without the music, right?
Overall, the project was a blast. It wasn’t perfect, but it was definitely recognizable as a “Drake & Josh” Halloween tribute. Plus, it was a fun way to get into the Halloween spirit.
Lessons learned? Improvise, have fun, and don’t be afraid to get a little silly!
