Okay, so I kept hearing folks talk about these pink straws at Dutch Bros. Didn’t think much of it at first, just another color, right? But then I saw a couple of pictures online, and they looked kinda neat, brighter than the usual ones. Figured I’d see if I could snag one next time I went.
So, the other Tuesday, I pulled into my regular Dutch Bros spot. Needed my usual afternoon pick-me-up, went for a simple iced coffee. Placed my order through the window, paid up, all the normal stuff. The broista handed me the drink, nice and quick.
I drove off, took a sip, and glanced down. Just the standard blue straw they usually have. Didn’t even occur to me to ask specifically for a pink one then. Just took what they gave me, you know? Finished my coffee, tossed the cup, and kinda forgot about it for a bit.
Trying Again
Then, over the weekend, I was out running errands and decided to swing by a different Dutch Bros location, one I don’t go to as often. This time, I remembered the pink straw thing right as I was ordering. I got my drink sorted, I think it was one of their Rebels that day.
When the person came to the window to hand it over, I just casually asked, “Hey, any chance you guys have any of those pink straws today?”
The broista kinda smiled, looked back towards their stash of supplies for a second. Then they turned back and said, “Yeah, looks like we’ve got a few left today!” They popped the regular straw out and swapped it for a bright pink one.
Success! It wasn’t anything major, obviously, just a plastic straw. But it was kinda fun to actually ask for it and get one. Seemed like maybe they don’t always put them out, or maybe they run out quick? Not sure.
- First trip: Didn’t ask, got a regular straw.
- Second trip (different location): Asked specifically, got the pink straw.
So yeah, that was my little adventure trying to get a pink straw. Just had to remember to actually ask for it. It’s the little things, sometimes. Made my drink feel a tiny bit more cheerful that day.
