Okay, so here’s the deal. I got this question from a buddy the other day: “Can a guy even BUY Plan B?” It got me thinking, ’cause I honestly didn’t know. So, I decided to find out for myself.

First things first, I did some digging online. I mean, Google is your friend, right? I typed in a bunch of stuff like “Plan B purchase restrictions,” “can men buy emergency contraception,” you know, the works. Basically, everything pointed to the fact that there are no age or gender restrictions on buying Plan B in the US. It’s over-the-counter, meaning anyone can grab it.
But I wasn’t totally convinced. Online research is one thing, actually DOING it is another. So, I hatched a plan.
My plan was simple: Walk into a pharmacy and buy Plan B. No disguises, no fake IDs, just me. I picked a pretty busy pharmacy, figuring the employees would be less likely to pay close attention to who’s buying what. I strolled in like I owned the place, went straight to the family planning aisle (which felt a little awkward, I’m not gonna lie), and grabbed a box of Plan B.
Headed to the checkout. The cashier didn’t bat an eye. She scanned the box, I paid with my card, and that was it. No questions asked, no weird looks, nothing. Seriously, it was the most uneventful transaction ever.
Mission accomplished. I walked out of the pharmacy with a box of Plan B. It was ridiculously easy. The whole thing took maybe five minutes.

So, can a guy buy Plan B? Absolutely. No problem at all. It’s just another over-the-counter medication. The bigger question is: why would a guy be buying Plan B? That’s a whole other conversation for another day.
My thoughts after the experiment: It’s kinda messed up that some people think it’s a big deal. It’s just medicine. If someone needs it, they should be able to get it, regardless of who they are. I guess it’s good to know that access is easy, but it also highlights how much stigma is still attached to this stuff.
Anyway, that’s my adventure for the day. Hope it was helpful, or at least mildly entertaining!
