Okay, so I’ve been curious about the “butterfly” sex position for a while now. I kept seeing it mentioned online, and it sounded, well, kinda acrobatic. But my partner and I are always up for trying new things, so we decided to give it a shot last night. It was…an experience.

First, we looked it up. There are some pretty wild diagrams out there, I’m not gonna lie. We needed something a little more…down to earth. Finally found a description that made sense. Basically, it’s her lying on her back, legs up and spread kinda wide, like a butterfly, right? And then I’m supposed to kneel between her legs, facing her.
The First Attempt
So, we got into position. Or, we tried to. It was…awkward. I felt like a pretzel trying to get my legs in the right spot. She was giggling, which didn’t help. I think we spent a good five minutes just adjusting and re-adjusting. My knees started to hurt from kneeling on the mattress, and she was complaining that her legs were getting tired.
- Problem 1: The angles were all wrong.
- Problem 2: My knees were killing me.
- Problem 3: Her legs were getting tired before we even really got started.
The Second Attempt
We took a break, stretched a bit, and tried again. This time, I put a pillow under my knees. HUGE improvement. She also shifted a bit, so she was propped up on her elbows a little more, which seemed to help with the leg fatigue. Much better.
Once we were actually in the position and comfortable, it was pretty good! It offers a really deep penetration, and the angle felt amazing. Plus, it gave me a great view, which was a nice bonus. It’s definitely not an every-time position, though. It takes some effort to get into, and it’s not exactly built for long, slow sessions.
The Aftermath
We both agreed it was fun to try, something different. We’ll likely try again, but, maybe we need more practice to get in right position. I suggest anyone get ready before going to try.
