Okay, so “boujee,” right? I kept seeing this word everywhere, and I was like, what the heck is that even about? So, I decided to figure it out, make it my own, you know?

My “Boujee” Experiment
First, I needed to understand what people meant. Some dictionary told me something like, you know, a fondness for luxury. But I don’t have that, because I am not a rich guy! So I need to find other way around.
Then, I started by just looking around my place. What could I do to make things feel a little… fancier? I didn’t want to spend a ton of money, that’s not the point. It’s about the feeling, right?
- I swapped out my mismatched mugs for a set of plain white ones I found at a thrift store. Surprisingly nice!
- I bought some cheap flowers. Just a little bunch, but it made the whole room feel different.
- I cleaned up my desk. Seriously, just getting rid of the clutter made it look way more “aesthetic,” like those Instagram pictures.
- I found some old candles I’d forgotten about and lit them. Instant mood lighting!
- I even tried to fold my towels like they do in hotels. Okay, that was a bit of a fail, but it was fun to try.
Then, I thought about my routines. What could I do to make my everyday stuff feel a little more special?
-
I made my morning coffee a thing. I used a French press instead of the drip machine, and I actually sat down and enjoyed it, instead of rushing out the door.
-
I started using a face mask once a week. It felt silly at first, but it was actually really relaxing.
- I put on some music while I cooked dinner. It made the whole process feel less like a chore.
It’s the little things! That’s what I learned. It’s not about having expensive stuff, it’s about appreciating what you have and making it feel special. I’m not going to pretend I’m suddenly living in a mansion, but my little apartment feels a lot more… “boujee” now. And I like it!
Totally recommend giving it a try. Just pick one thing, one small thing, and make it a little nicer. You might be surprised how good it feels!
