Okay, so today I wanted to mess around with something simple, nothing too crazy, just a quick little project to get my hands dirty. I had this idea to find a picture, a black and white one, of a child hugging their parent. Sounds easy, right? Well, let me tell you, it turned into a bit of a journey.

First, I jumped on the computer and started hitting up the usual spots. You know, the places where you can find all sorts of images. I typed in “child hugging parent black and white” and figured I’d have tons of options right away. Well, I did get a lot of hits, that’s for sure, but sifting through them was another story.
I scrolled and scrolled, and yeah, there were plenty of pictures of kids and parents hugging, but finding a good black and white one was tougher than I thought. Some were too grainy, others were kind of cheesy, and a bunch just didn’t have that “it” factor I was looking for. I wanted something that felt real, you know? Something that captured that genuine love between a kid and their parent.
So, I changed up my search terms a bit. I tried “black parent hugging child,” “parent hugging child black white,” and even threw in “authentic” and “stock photos” to see if that would help. Each time, I got a slightly different mix of results, but still nothing that really grabbed me.
- Clicked through page after page of images.
- Filtered by “black and white” when I could.
- Saved a few that looked promising.
After a while, I started to feel a little discouraged. I mean, how hard could it be to find one decent picture? But I kept at it, determined to find something that worked. I opened up a bunch of images in new tabs, compared them side by side, and even zoomed in to check out the details.
The Turning Point
Then, finally, I stumbled upon it. A beautiful black and white photo of a child wrapped around their parent’s neck, a huge smile on their face. It was perfect. The lighting was just right, the composition was great, and it had that raw, emotional feel I was after. I downloaded it right away, feeling like I’d just struck gold.

It might sound silly to get so excited over a picture, but it was a good reminder that sometimes the simplest things can be surprisingly challenging. And hey, it made finding that perfect image all the more satisfying. So, that was my little adventure for the day. Not exactly groundbreaking, but it was fun, and I ended up with a picture I really love.
