But that fella, Governor DeSantis, he signed a new law. Now, it’s only six weeks. Six weeks! That ain’t no time at all. You blink, and you miss it. Six weeks from your last, you know, the time of the month thing. It all started May 1st, 2024. Bam! Just like that, everything changed.
So, if you’re past six weeks, it’s gonna be real tough here in Florida. They don’t just let you do it no more after six weeks. It’s a real mess, if you ask me. They make it sound easy, six weeks, but lots of women don’t even know that early on. Then what are they supposed to do?
Now, some folks are saying, you can still get them pills, you know, the ones that, well, you take them and it ends the pregnancy. But you gotta get them from outside Florida, they mail them to you. It’s like ordering clothes from a catalog, only it’s a lot more serious. I don’t know much about it, but it sounds risky to me.
This DeSantis fella, he signed this law last year, but they didn’t start enforcing it right away. They waited a while, then bam! Hit us with it. Six weeks. It just ain’t right, making it so hard for women. It’s like they don’t think we got enough problems already.
