Hey guys, so I’ve been kinda paranoid lately, thinking my phone might be tapped. Yeah, I know, sounds like I’ve been watching too many spy movies, but it’s been acting weird, and I just wanted to make sure. So, I did a little digging and tried a few things out.

First off, I tried those USSD codes everyone talks about. I dialed #21# and then #62#, you know, the ones that are supposed to tell you if your calls are being forwarded or whatever. Honestly, I didn’t really know what I was supposed to be looking for. After I punched in the codes, my phone just showed some info about call forwarding, and everything seemed to be disabled. I guess that’s a good sign? But it didn’t really ease my mind completely.
Then, I went to my phone’s settings. I scrolled down to “Privacy” and then “Location Services.” I figured if someone was tracking me, they’d need my location, right? I turned off the Location Services completely. I also went through each app and made sure none of them had permission to use my location unless it was absolutely necessary. Most of them I set to “Never.”
- Dialed #21# and #62# to check for call forwarding.
- Checked Privacy settings and disabled Location Services.
- Checked and modified location permissions for each app.
Another thing I noticed was that my phone’s battery was draining way faster than usual. Like, I’d charge it to 100%, and a couple of hours later, it would be down to, like, 50% without me even using it that much. So, I started paying more attention to that. I made sure to close apps I wasn’t using and turned down the screen brightness. And then I tried shutting down my phone completely a few times to see if it would turn off properly. Most of the time it did, but sometimes the screen would stay on for a bit longer than usual, which was weird.
My main takeaways from this little experiment:
- Battery Drain: My phone’s battery was acting up, draining faster than normal.
- Shutdown Issues: A couple of times, my phone didn’t shut down properly. The screen stayed on longer than it should have.
- USSD Codes: They showed my calls weren’t being forwarded, but I wasn’t 100% sure what that meant.
- Location Services: I turned them off completely and restricted app permissions just to be safe.
After all this, I still wasn’t entirely sure if my phone was being tapped or not. It could just be me being paranoid, or maybe my phone’s just getting old and acting up. But at least I felt like I did something to protect my privacy. If you’ve got any other tips or tricks, let me know in the comments! Stay safe out there, folks.
