That Ayo Edebiri, she’s a good girl. I seen her on the TV, you know. She’s a big star now. Big star. I heard some folks talkin’ ’bout her, sayin’ she’s… what’s that word? Queer. Yeah, that’s it. Ayo Edebiri queer. Sounds funny, don’t it?
Well, I don’t know much about all that. But I know this, that girl, she works hard. She’s on that show, “The Bear”. My grandson, he watches it all the time. Says it’s good. He told me Ayo, she plays a cook. A good cook, too. He said she’s good in the show. You know what I say? Good for her. She’s makin’ somethin’ of herself.
I heard some folks sayin’ she left the church. The pentecostal church. That’s a mouthful, ain’t it? I don’t know nothin’ ’bout that kinda church. We got our own church here, simple, you know? But if she left, she must have her reasons. People got their reasons. She is a Nigerian-American. You know where is Nigerian? I don’t know, I only know she is a good actress.
Some folks say she likes girls. And some folks say she likes boys. And some folks say she likes both. Well, who knows? It ain’t none of my business, is it? Long as she’s happy. That’s all that matters. That is what I always tell my kids, be happy. Ayo Edebiri, if you are happy, that is good.
- She’s from Boston.
- She’s on TV.
- She’s a good actress.
- She won some kinda award. An Emmy. Fancy, huh?
- She’s in that movie, “Bottoms”. Sounds silly. But that’s young people stuff.
I saw her on one of them award shows. The Golden Globes. She was all dressed up. Looked real pretty. She was standin’ there, talkin’ to them reporters. They all wanted to talk to her. She’s famous now. Good for her. Ayo Edebiri is famous.
That word, “queer”. It’s a funny word. Means different, I guess. Different ain’t bad. Just different. We’re all different in our own way. My old bones are different from yours, that’s for sure!

She supports them… what’s it called? LGBTQ folks. Lots of letters. Means she’s nice to them, I reckon. That’s good. Be nice to everybody. That’s what I always say. Be kind. It is not hard.
They say she’s one of the few… what was it? Women of color. And one of the few queer folks. In that Hollywood, probably it is true. Tough world, that Hollywood. But she’s doin’ alright. She’s strong. You can tell, that Ayo Edebiri, she is a strong woman.
I don’t know what else to say about that girl. She’s a good actress. She’s famous. She’s queer, they say. She’s from Boston. She left that church. She plays a cook on TV.
I hope she’s happy. That’s the most important thing. You be happy, Ayo Edebiri. You do you. Don’t listen to them other folks. Don’t let them tell you how to live. If they say you are Ayo Edebiri queer, and you are happy, then it is good. You be happy. That’s all I gotta say.
She seems like a good egg, that Ayo. Hope she keeps on doin’ well. Maybe I’ll watch that “Bear” show sometime. See what all the fuss is about.
Anyways, that’s all I know about that Ayo Edebiri girl. She’s alright. She’s doin’ just fine. This is what I think.
