Why I Started This Whole Thing
So, last Tuesday, Mike and me were just lying around after pizza. You know that kinda mood? Not tired exactly, but… cozy. And we started talking, just kinda slow. Not even about anything deep at first. Just, “Hey… remember that weird movie scene?” or “What was that pop song lyric again?” Real slow, kinda giggly.

Then boom, it hit me. Neither of us had really talked properly about… stuff. Like, fun stuff we maybe saw online or heard friends giggle about. We kinda just figured things out as we went along. Felt awkward bringing it up. Why? Dunno. Just felt weird.
So, I sat up a bit. Pizza crust forgotten. “Look,” I said, maybe a little too loud. “This is silly. Let’s just… pick one simple thing neither of us tried? Like grabbing a book? No big plan. Just… see?” Mike blinked. “Like… like what?” “Anything!” I said. “Something small. Weird. Doesn’t matter! Just gotta say it!”
The Awkward Brainstorming (Seriously)
Okay, actually starting was clumsy. Like asking for directions in a language you don’t speak. We just stared at the ceiling.
- “Um… blindfold?” Mike mumbled into a cushion.
- “Feather?” I shot back, kinda fast. (Where did that come from?)
- “Ice cube?” he said, suddenly sounding interested.
- “Truth or dare… but naked?” I blurted out. We both snorted soda out our noses.
We wrote them down like a weird shopping list. Rule 1: Pick ONLY ONE first time. Rule 2: Either says “Stop,” we STOP. No moaning. Rule 3: Laughing is totally allowed. Maybe needed.
What We Actually Did First
We went dumb simple. Blindfold. Because it was just sitting there, on Mike’s nightstand from a travel sleep mask. No buying weird gear online waiting days. Grab it. Done.

I put it on. Dark. REALLY dark. You think you know your room, but nope. Every sound got loud – the AC buzzing, Mike breathing funny. He touched my hand first, not sexy-like, just “You still there?” tap tap. Made me jump! We cracked up.
Things calmed down. He kissed my neck. Different with the blindfold. Focused just on that. No worrying about my face or his face. Just… feeling warm breath, lips. Fingers tracing my shoulder. It felt… slower? Bigger? Weirdly intense for such a simple thing. Took maybe ten minutes? Maybe more? Felt longer. In a good way.
Aftermath & My Big Realization
We took the blindfold off finally. Bit dizzy. Looked at each other like “Whoa.” We just flopped back and talked about it – the jumpy part, the neck thing, how the AC noise was weirdly distracting.
Here’s the thing I figured out: It wasn’t about the blindfold itself being magic. It was us finally talking first. Agreeing on a silly small thing first. Knowing we could tap out without a whole drama. Made us both… looser? Brave even? Like opening a tiny door together.
So… Would I Tell You To Try?
Not the blindfold specifically. Try the talking bit. Seriously. Do the dumb list. Pick the smallest, simplest thing that won’t need a trip to the store. Agree it might be awkward as hell. Let yourselves laugh like idiots. And just start one tiny new thing. For us, it worked because we felt safe messing up. Like holding hands jumping off a tiny curb, not a cliff.

Now? We got a box with the blindfold and a dumb feather we found outside. Maybe try the ice cube tonight. Maybe not. Just knowing we can is… kinda great. And yeah, I wrote this blog post wearing my comfiest pajamas!
