- Third try: Ran out of bottles to throw. Ended up trapped in a corner like a damn fool. Death animation made me feel sick.
Died like five more times before finally understanding the pattern. This wasn’t just hitting buttons. Needed to feel desperate. Needed to be Ellie.
Seeing That Moment
Finally did it. Got the sequence right – David went down, Ellie crawled away bleeding. He started talking all creepy, “We’re meant to survive together…” Gave me chills, legit.
Then boom – machete swings. Once. Twice. Kept going. Screen covered in red. Ellie’s face… pure animal rage mixed with utter horror. Didn’t blink once. The grunts, the wet sound, David just stopping… silence afterward? Killer.
My jaw? On the damn floor. Sat staring at the “Chapter Complete” screen just breathing hard.
Processing After the Credits
Sat quiet for like five minutes after. Got up, paced a bit. Poured a drink.
Totally get why fans lose it over this now. It’s not about a cool fight. You see that kid lose everything, turn into something else to survive. The animation is rough, bloody, uncomfortable – makes you flinch. But damn does it stick with you. Makes you feel Ellie change inside. Game made me forget the room I was sitting in.
Worth the hassle? Hell yes. This is why I still play games like this. Reminds you how powerful stories can hit when they’re done this raw. Forgot to eat dinner. Whatever.
