So I figured I’d share something real about handling solo guy time. Been tweaking my routine for years honestly.

Why Even Bother?
Started ’cause my wrist kept cramping up like crazy after regular sessions. Also felt rushed sometimes, which ain’t fun. Wanted to make it feel less like a chore and more like proper “me time”.
Prepping My Spot
First thing: locked my bedroom door. Phone on silent mode – no interruptions. Grabbed that plain lotion bottle from my nightstand. Warm shower right before helped loosen things up. Found dim lighting works best for me – turned off the main bulb, left the desk lamp on.
Position Experiment
Tried three ways this time:
- Back against pillows – comfy but felt restricted
- Standing near bed – awkward towel placement drama
- Laying flat on bed – winner! Full body relaxation achieved
Ended up putting an extra pillow under my hips. Game changer for angle.
Rhythm Testing
Began super slow with loose grip. Like testing bathwater temp. Gradually sped up over several minutes. Paused completely twice when sensations got too intense – learned this prevents rushing.

Changed pressure three times:
- Light touch for warm-up
- Medium when things got going
- Firmer near the end
Mind Hack
Used to just fantasize randomly. Now I focus on body sensations first – skin contact, heartbeat thumping, breathing patterns. Shuts off my overthinking brain. Only later added mental images.
Cleanup Duty
Had tissues within arm’s reach – crucial. Immediately used bathroom after for quick rinse. No more sticky mess on sheets since I started putting towels down first.
What Improved?
Whole thing lasted 25 mins instead of my usual 8-10 minute sprint. Way more satisfying buildup and release. Zero hand cramps! Woke up feeling rested instead of groggy.

Still figuring out the perfect lotion amount though – either too sticky or too slippery every damn time.
