Alright, so today was one of those days. You know, where you start off thinking you’re gonna be productive, get a few things ticked off the list, and then BAM! The internet just throws a wrench in the whole thing. Or maybe I throw the wrench myself, who knows anymore.

Down the Rabbit Hole We Go
So, I decided to dig into something I’d seen floating around. Just trying to get a handle on it, understand what the heck it was all about. You figure, okay, quick search, read a couple of things, and boom, informed. Wrong. So wrong.
It started simple enough. Typed in a few words, looking for some straightforward info. First few results? All over the place. One site says one thing, another says the complete opposite. Then you get the forums, oh boy, the forums. Everyone’s an expert, everyone’s got an opinion, and half of it sounds like they’re making it up as they go along.
- First hour: Still just clicking links, feeling like I’m getting nowhere.
- Second hour: Pretty sure I’ve read the same debunked theory on five different sites, each claiming it as gospel.
- Third hour: My brain feels like scrambled eggs. What was I even looking for?
You try to be methodical, right? Cross-reference, check sources. But then you find out the “sources” are just linking back to each other in some endless, circular loop of nonsense. It’s like trying to nail Jell-O to a wall. And the more you dig, the weirder it gets. Things pop up that have absolutely nothing to do with what you started looking for, but now you’re curious about that too. Classic.
Is This Just How It Is Now?
Honestly, some days I just feel like unplugging the whole darn thing. It used to feel like you could find actual information, you know? Now it’s like wading through a swamp. And the anount of just… stuff. It’s overwhelming. You’re trying to get to the bottom of one little thing, and you end up with twenty new tabs open, a headache, and more questions than answers.
I spent a good chunk of the afternoon on this particular wild goose chase. My so-called “practice” for the day turned into a masterclass in how to get absolutely sidetracked and frustrated. I didn’t end up with any clear answers, really. Just a general feeling of being annoyed and a bit tired of the noise.

So, what’s the takeaway from today’s “practice”? Well, for one, maybe I need to be a bit more selective about which rabbit holes I jump into. And for another, sometimes the best thing to do is just close the laptop and go outside. Which is pretty much what I did. Cleared my head a bit. Tomorrow’s another day, I guess. Maybe I’ll try to learn how to bake bread or something. Seems simpler.
