Okay, so I saw this “ambiamorous flag” thing trending and I was like, “What’s that?” I’m always up for learning something new, so I decided to dive in and figure it out, and, of course, make one myself, just for fun!

First, I needed to know what the heck it even was. Turns out, ambiamorous is all about being cool with either monogamous or polyamorous relationships. You’re basically happy either way. It’s not about being unsure, it’s about genuinely being okay with both relationship styles. Makes sense, right?
Next, the flag itself. I had no clue. Did some digging, and I got the colors and their meanings:
- Blue: Represents freedom and choice. Pretty straightforward.
- White: Symbolizes unity and understanding. Also makes sense in this context.
- Purple: This is for love and acceptance, in all its forms.
- Heart with infinity : This is for an infinite number of people to love.
Alright, so I had my colors. Now what? I’m not exactly a graphic designer. I wanted something simple that I could actually recreate. I tried to draw it but… it did not work out, so I gave up drawing, and went straight to my computer.
Making the Flag (Digitally)
I opened up my trusty old image editor. Nothing fancy, just something I’ve used for years for basic stuff. I decided to go with simple stripes, because, let’s be honest, that’s all I can handle.
Created a new canvas. Made it a rectangle, because flags are usually rectangles, right?

I get my colors to make some horizontal stripes,I started to follow a color order: blue, white and purple.
Then, I put a heart at the center, and tried my best to draw a infinity signal inside of it.I saved it as a PNG. Done!
It’s not perfect, but hey, I made it! It represents what it’s supposed to, and I learned something new in the process. That’s a win in my book. Maybe I’ll get better at the design part eventually, but for now, I’m happy with my little digital ambiamorous flag.
