Okay, so today I decided to dive into the world of “trashy tattoos.” I’ve always been curious about them, and thought, why not give it a shot myself? Not on my skin, of course! I’m not that brave. I’m talking about creating some digital designs.
Getting Started
First, I needed some inspiration. I spent a good hour just scrolling through images online. I looked at everything from badly drawn cartoons to intentionally misspelled words. It’s a surprisingly broad category!
Experimenting with Styles
Next, I grabbed my trusty iPad and stylus and opened up my favorite drawing app. I started with some simple shapes and lines, trying to mimic that “I did this in my friend’s basement” vibe.
- First Attempt: A wonky-looking heart. It was… okay. Not quite trashy enough.
- Second Attempt: A stick figure doing a very awkward dance. This was getting closer to the mark!
- Third Attempt: I sketched the face of cartoon and the detail are suck.
I played around with different “shading” techniques (if you can even call them that) – basically just scribbling randomly with the stylus. I discovered that the key is to not overthink it. The less perfect, the better.
Adding Text
What’s a trashy tattoo without some questionable text? I experimented with a few phrases like a random word. I settled on all caps, because, well, it just felt right.
The Final Result
After a couple of hours of messing around, I had a collection of digital “trashy tattoos” that I was actually kind of proud of. They’re definitely not something I’d want permanently on my body, but they were fun to create. I think the wonky stick figure is my favorite – it just has this charmingly awful quality to it.
This whole experiment reminded me that art doesn’t always have to be serious or perfect. Sometimes, the most fun comes from embracing the imperfections and just going with the flow. If you got some design and skill, just make your tattoo whatever you want!
