Okay, so today, I really wanted to dive into this idea of “togetherness in love.” It’s something I’ve been thinking about a lot, and I wanted to, like, actively work on it. So, here’s what I did.

First, I woke up and, instead of immediately grabbing my phone, I just laid there for a few minutes. I thought about my partner and all the things I appreciate about them. Seriously, just little stuff, like how they always make the coffee just right, or how they laugh at my silly jokes, even when they’re not that funny.

Then, I got up and made breakfast for both of us. Usually, we just kind of do our own thing in the morning, but today I wanted to do something together. We sat down at the table, no phones, no TV, and just talked. It was simple, just scrambled eggs and toast, but it felt…different. Better.

Making an Effort

  • Started the day with appreciation.
  • Made breakfast together.
  • Focused on conversation, no distractions.

Later in the day, we usually both just kind of do our own thing – work, hobbies, whatever. But today, I suggested we go for a walk in the park. It was nothing fancy, just a stroll, but we held hands and talked about our day. We pointed out things we saw, like a funny-looking dog or a really pretty flower. It sounds cheesy, I know, but it felt good to just… be present with each other.

In the evening, instead of just plopping down on the couch and watching TV, we decided to cook dinner together. We put on some music, opened a bottle of wine, and made a mess in the kitchen. It wasn’t a gourmet meal or anything, just pasta, but the process of doing it together made it special.

And finally before bed, i just put my arm on my partner and we hug each other for like 5 minutes. We didn’t say a word, but felt really close at that moment.

Honestly, the whole day was just about making those small, conscious efforts to connect. It wasn’t about grand gestures or anything, just about being present and appreciating each other. And you know what? It really did make a difference. We felt closer, more connected. It’s something I definitely want to keep doing, even in small ways, every day.
