Okay, so today I was digging into “To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before,” trying to figure out what makes Lara Jean, well, Lara Jean. I mean, she’s such a relatable character, right? So I wanted to pin down the two biggest things that define her.
My Deep Dive into Lara Jean’s Personality
First, I re-watched the movie. You know, for “research.” I grabbed some popcorn, settled into my comfiest blanket, and paid super close attention this time. I even kept a notebook handy to jot down my thoughts.
Then, I started brainstorming. I made a list of all the words that popped into my head when I think of Lara Jean: shy, romantic, dreamy, family-oriented… you get the idea. I ended up with a pretty long list!
After that, I went online and read some articles and fan discussions. It’s always interesting to see what other people think. I saw a lot of different opinions, which got me thinking even more.

Even when things get crazy with the whole fake-dating situation, her family is always there for her. Some discussions pointed out her “family-oriented” and “close with the family”, bingo!
So, after all that watching, thinking, and reading, I’ve decided that Lara Jean’s two most important traits are her romantic idealism and her deep connection to family. These two things shape her decisions, her relationships, and pretty much everything about her. And that’s what makes her such a captivating character!
