Okay, so I wanted to share my little adventure on how I got into writing smut, specifically for the female gaze. It’s been a wild ride, let me tell you!

First off, I gotta admit, I’ve always been a bit of a, uh, “enthusiast” when it comes to this stuff. So, a while back, I thought, why not try my hand at writing it? I started by diving deep into all sorts of platforms that got some of them there, you know, like Batolist. They got this huge collection of manga, and a good chunk of it is smut. I spent hours just soaking it all in, trying to figure out what makes a scene hot.
Then I stumbled upon some discussions about Yaoi with actual plots. That really caught my attention. I mean, who says smut can’t have a good story, right? So, I started looking for BL stories, especially those completed ones with like, 20 chapters. Those were perfect for understanding how to build up tension and develop characters while keeping it spicy.
My Process
Here’s how I went about it:
- Reading, reading, reading: I basically devoured anything I could find, from those mangas to fanfics. I came across a collection of short stories based on prompts, centered around Nier Automata’s 2B. That was a goldmine! It showed me how to use prompts and create hot scenarios from them.
- Figuring out what works: I realized that for the female gaze, it’s not just about the act itself. It’s about the connection, the emotion, the relationship between the characters. I paid close attention to how authors built up to the steamy scenes, how they described the feelings, the intimacy.
- Practice: I started writing, just for fun, trying out different scenarios. I’d imagine myself as a character, how would I feel, what would turn me on? It was awkward at first, ngl, but I kept at it.
- Feedback: When I felt brave enough, I shared some of my stuff with a close friend. She’s into this stuff too, and her feedback was super helpful. She pointed out what worked, what didn’t, and where I could improve.
It’s still a learning process, and sometimes I just stare at a blank page, like, what am I even doing? But then I remember those stories that made me feel things, and I try to channel that into my own writing. And honestly, seeing the reactions, even if it’s just from a few people, makes it all worth it. It’s like, “Hey, I made someone feel something with my words!” And that’s pretty damn cool, if you ask me.
So yeah, that’s my journey so far. Still figuring things out, still exploring, still getting those awkward moments when I read back what I wrote. But hey, it’s fun, it’s a creative outlet, and who knows, maybe one day I’ll be churning out those steamy stories like a pro! Wish me luck!
