So, I had this whole thing with my pregnancy scare and needed to figure out what to do. I had heard about Planned Parenthood and that they could help with this kind of stuff. I found out that there’s one in Rocky River, so I decided to check it out.

First, I went on their website. It was pretty easy to find what I was looking for. They had a ton of information about birth control, pregnancy options, and abortion. It was kind of overwhelming, to be honest, but at least they had all the info in one place.
I learned that I had a few choices. I could continue the pregnancy and become a parent, continue the pregnancy and make an adoption plan, or have an abortion. Each option had its pros and cons, and it was a lot to think about.
I also found out that they offer free counseling. It said it’s “pro-choice and non-judgmental,” which was a relief. I figured talking to someone who wouldn’t judge me would be helpful. I was so confused about this decision!
After reading through everything, I decided to make an appointment. I called the Rocky River location, and the person on the phone was super nice and helpful. They answered all my questions and made me feel a little less stressed. They told me that most health insurance plans are accepted. Great news! I have one from my work.
- Called Planned Parenthood Rocky River.
- Made an appointment for a consultation.
- Asked about insurance.
When I went in for my appointment, the staff was really welcoming. The place was clean, and everyone was professional. I met with a counselor, and we talked about my options. She explained everything in detail, including the risks and benefits of each choice. She even told me about the Planned Parenthood Direct, which I think can get you birth control through an app.

We also talked about the abortion pill and in-clinic abortion procedures. It was a lot of information to take in, but the counselor was patient and made sure I understood everything. The conversation is really helpful for me to make the right decision.
- Went to Planned Parenthood Rocky River.
- Met with a counselor.

The Result
After the consultation, I felt so much more informed and empowered to make a decision. I ended up choosing what was best for me, and I’m grateful that Planned Parenthood was there to help me through the process. They also mentioned that there is a minister who can provide spiritual counseling if I need it. This is good. I’m an Atheism.
This whole experience was tough, but having access to resources like Planned Parenthood made a huge difference. It’s good to know that there’s a place where you can get unbiased information and support when you’re dealing with something as important as reproductive health. They really do focus on sexual and reproductive health. The staff told me that they had been doing this since 1936 in Texas.
If you’re ever in a similar situation, I’d definitely recommend checking out Planned Parenthood. They can help you figure out your options and make the best decision for you. Don’t be afraid to ask questions and get the support you need. You don’t need to do this alone!
Oh, and they mentioned something about expanding health coverage and access to birth control to millions. That’s pretty cool, I guess. It sounds like they’re doing good things for people all over.

Anyways, that’s my story. Hope it helps someone out there!
