Okay, so yesterday I went to Planned Parenthood in Long Beach. I’d been meaning to get a check-up, and it was finally time to bite the bullet. I’d heard a lot about this place, so I figured, why not?

First off, finding the place wasn’t too hard. It’s on Pacific Ave, a pretty busy street. I drove there and parked in the parking lot. I saw a sign saying to check in 15 minutes before my appointment, so I went inside a bit early.
When I got in, the front desk person was super friendly. They checked me in, and I filled out some paperwork. The waiting area was clean and pretty calm, which was nice. I didn’t have to wait too long before they called my name.
- I was there for a general check-up and also wanted to talk about birth control options.
- The nurse practitioner I saw was really cool. She explained everything clearly and answered all my questions without making me feel rushed.
- We talked about different birth control methods, and she helped me figure out what would work best for me.
After the check-up, I went to pay. They have different prices, so if you’re worried about the cost, it’s a good idea to call ahead and ask. They were pretty upfront about the pricing, which I appreciated. And I found out that minors in California can get some services without needing their parents’ permission. Good to know!
What I got from this visit
Overall, it was a good experience. I got the care I needed, learned a lot about my options, and felt comfortable the whole time. If you’re in Long Beach and need to see someone for family planning or a check-up, I’d say this Planned Parenthood is a solid choice. Just make sure you arrive a bit early for your appointment and park in the lot. Oh, and they’re open Monday, Tuesday, and Friday from 8:30 am to 4 pm, so plan accordingly.
