Oh boy, being five months pregnant has been quite the journey, and I’ve been snapping pics like crazy to document it all. So, let me tell you all about it!

It all started with just a little bump, barely noticeable. But around the 5th month, whoa, did things start to change! My belly really started to pop out, and it was pretty obvious to everyone that I was expecting. I decided I really wanted to capture these changes, so I started taking pictures regularly.
I’m no professional photographer, but I got myself a decent camera and started experimenting. I tried different angles, different lighting, and even some fun outfits to show off the bump. It was a learning process, for sure. Some days, I felt like a supermodel; other days, I just felt, well, pregnant. But I kept at it because I knew I wanted to have these memories to look back on.
- The Setup: I cleared out a corner in my living room that had good natural light. I figured this would be my “studio.” Nothing fancy, just a plain wall and a window.
- The Gear: I didn’t go all out with the equipment. Just my smartphone and a simple tripod I found around. I learned that good lighting can make all the difference.
- The Poses: This was the fun part! I’d look up some inspiration online, but mostly I just went with what felt natural. Side profiles to really show off the belly, some sitting poses, and even some with my partner for those extra sweet shots.
At 5 months, my belly was really showing, and it was awesome to see the changes from week to week. My baby was super active, too. It felt like there was a little party going on in there! I even started to figure out a little bit of a routine. Every Sunday, I’d take a new set of photos. I kept it simple, but those photos became really special to me.
The changes
My baby was moving a lot, kicking and stretching – it felt like having my own personal little gymnast inside! At this stage, my baby was about 300 grams, and I was gaining about half a kilogram to 2 kilograms each month. By the end of the 20th week, I had gained around 4.5 kilograms since the start of my pregnancy. It was wild to see my body change so much, and the pictures really helped me appreciate the journey.
As I kept taking photos, I got better at it. I learned which angles were most flattering, and I started to get a little more creative with the backgrounds and my outfits. I even got my partner involved in some of the photos, which made them even more special.

Now, looking back at those 5-month pregnant pictures, I’m so glad I took the time to document everything. They’re not just photos; they’re memories of a really special time in my life. I can see how much my baby and I were growing, and it’s something I’ll cherish forever. If you’re pregnant, I totally recommend doing something similar. You don’t need to be a pro, just capture those moments, and you’ll be so happy you did!
